Step-by-Step File Upload Guide

[edit]

1. Check Media Categories for Existing File

[edit]

If the image already exists but has low quality, use the "Upload a new version" button to update it without changing the name and preserving links in articles. If the file does not exist, upload a new image.

2. File Naming

[edit]

When choosing a file name, use the article title (e.g., "Storage TMA"). If an article has multiple files and the name is already taken, add a description of the element or action (e.g., "Storage TMA move").

3. Starting the Upload

[edit]
  • On the right panel of the main page, click the "Upload file" button.

4. File Naming

[edit]
  • In the "New filename:" field, enter the name.
  • Maintain a consistent style:
    • Use Latin letters.
    • Name the file analogously to the article (example: Globula_Pyrumorosa.jpg).

5. Description and Categorization

[edit]

In the "Summary:" field, specify the category:

This is a mandatory requirement. Do not forget to do this!

[[Category:Images - Globulas]]
[[Category:Images - Weapons]]
[[Category:Images - Resources]]
[[Category:Images - Tools]]
[[Category:Images - Batteries and Storage]]
[[Category:Images - Components]]
[[Category:Images - Composite Components]]
[[Category:Images - Blueprints]]
[[Category:Images - Mechanics]]
[[Category:Images - TMA]]
[[Category:Images - Manuals]]
[[Category:Images - Other]]

6. Completion

[edit]
  • Click the "Upload file" button at the bottom of the page.

7. Verification

[edit]

Go to the All categories page. Navigate to the relevant media category and ensure your file has appeared there.
