How to Write an Article

Every article in the encyclopedia begins with two mandatory actions.

Action One

Make sure the article does not already exist. Go to the main page, in the "Main Sections" block, select the section corresponding to your topic and browse similar titles. If nothing is found, enter keywords in the search. If the topic is mentioned in another article but covered insufficiently, consult with the moderators — it might be better to expand the existing one. If the topic is absent or deserves a separate article, enter the title in the search. The encyclopedia will suggest creating a page, for example:

"Create the page «Wheel» in this wiki project!"

Click on the red link to start.

The title should be clear and concise: for an item — its name, for an action — the action's name, for a TMA mechanic — add "TMA" (e.g., Storage TMA).

Action Two

Add the section template. The list is available on the main page, see Templates. Choose the template corresponding to the category, copy the example, and paste it into the article. Fill in all fields of the template.

Exception — the "Manuals" section, where no template is needed.

For the "image =" field, upload a file (see the article How to Upload an Image). After uploading, for example, "Wheel.jpg", copy the name and paste: "image = Wheel.jpg".

After filling in the fields and meeting the conditions, proceed to add text to the article.

What if the article should be in a specific category but doesn't need a template?

Open the editing field and add a category. Main categories: * [[Category:Globulas]] * [[Category:Weapons]] * [[Category:Resources]] * [[Category:Tools]] * [[Category:Batteries and Storage]] * [[Category:Components]] * [[Category:Composite Components]] * [[Category:Blueprints]] * [[Category:Mechanics]] * [[Category:TMA]] * [[Category:Manuals]]

Copy the appropriate category and paste it at the end of the article (or at the beginning — at your discretion). After saving, the article will appear in the section. If none of the categories fit, do not create new ones — contact the moderators.

Tips

1. Do not save the article multiple times. Write in one go, check with the "Preview" button. For changes, return to the editor and use "Preview" again.

2. Articles can have many images, not just in the template. Insert them like this:

   [[File:Wheel.jpg|thumb|200px|Image description]]

3. Break the article into chapters using HTML markup. HTML help is available here:HTML Help

4. To copy formatting or text from another article, open it, click "Edit", copy the necessary tags or text, and exit without saving.
